HELP!!!

Ok....Here's my latest project. We've been doing a lot of painting and we're kinda stuck on this wall. It's right when you walk in our house and it's SOOOOO dark. I really want to paint it an olive green, but Brady wants a brick red. I think, if we're trying to make the room brighter, a red would do the exact opposite. So I would love a light shade of olive green. What do you think? The rest of this area is all logs; the tile is brown and tan, and the carpet is a dark greyish-brown. Our couch is a dark olive and the rug has greens, dark navy, and dark reds. So, any sugestions would be greatly appreciated! =)
