Our Trip Down South

A couple weeks ago, the boys and I went to visit family in Kentucky and Tennessee. We flew out on a red eye. The boys actually did really well. They sure were exhausted the next day, though!
Anyway, we had a ton of fun! Here are some pictures from our trip:

This is Granpma and Grandpa Brown:

Everything in Grandma and Grandpa Brown's house was at least 40 years old! They are SO good at keeping things forever and taking really good care of their stuff. They obviously didn't have 3 boys! There are toys in the basement from when my mom was a little girl. Grandpa Brown made this sign for us with 40+ year old magnetic letters. Cute, huh?

Grandpa Brown hung up a tire swing and a bar swing, and the boys were in heaven!

The second day we were there, we went to a farm and picked strawberries. Well...Grandpa and I did. The boys fell asleep in the car and wouldn't wake up for anything! Aren't these strawberries beautiful?!

And here's the beautiful country:

And, the chickens of course!

Here's a picture of Lochlin playing with some (40 year old) toy trucks. Notice the strawberry juice on his mouth. He loved the fresh strawberries! They were so yummy!

We went to a beautiful park and had a picnic. It was SOOOOO humid. I couldn't believe how humid it was. And there were lots and lots of bugs! Especially daddy long legs. It was fun though. These pictures don't really show it, but this place was so green! It was beautiful.

And this was our FAVORITE activity. Making homemade ice cream. MmmmmMMMM!!! We made a flavor called straw-ba-nut, and it was so good. Fresh strawberries, bananas, and pecans. Uuuhhhhh! I wish I had an ice cream machine. Someday....

The boys loved eating the fresh ice cream off the paddle. They thought that was the best part!

And here's Loc licking every last drop off the table. Yes....it was THAT good!

Grandma read to the boys every night. Tyler says he likes the way she tells stories. She has a thick southern accent, and they think it's so cool.

Eating more ice cream:

Cutting branches that fell outta Grandpa's tree:

Lochlin totally wiped out:

We also played a lot of badminton:

And ran through the sprinkler:

And, Grandpa let the boys drive his 40 year old lawnmower. Actually....I don't think it's that old! Maybe 20 years.

....TO BE CONTINUED. This was just Kentucky. We also went to Six Flags, Nashville, the Opryland Hotel, and to an awesome aquarium resturant. Oh, and the National Corvette Museum. I think I'll wait till they hook up our Comcast on Tuesday to update cuz it takes FOREVER to upload pictures. I need a faster connection. So, check back!

Wow! Did you do all this on your own? Did you drive or fly? Looks like you've had all your summer fun in one vacation. The old toy trucks must be collectibles.
