I'm not much of a decorator, seeing as I don't have my own house to decorate, but I think green would look good. I would probably choose a "warmer" green rather than a "cooler" green. I think if it's too pastelish it won't work with your couches/rug/walls etc. I also think red would be nice, but I really like the "one red wall" look. Anyway, I don't know if that helped at all.
Sorry! My internet was having issues!
I found a few things - it's really hard without like, being there, but here's what I came up with:
http://www.restorationhardware.com/rh/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod1048007&navAction=jump - the Bay Laurel color
http://www.potterybarn.com/content/colors/fallpaint/stylehouse.cfm?cm_type=snav
At Pottery Barn, I'm loving the Brookside Moss and the Oak Ridge, in that order. Let me know what you think!
PS - There's a really beautiful color from Benjamin Moore that I'm loving!
It's called Providence Olive and it's HC-98.

If you click on "Organic Comfort", room #2, you can see it in a room.
Emily just told me to get my fanny over here! I just got my internet up and running again today after a week of issue after issue, and issues before that! Blah!
Anyway, you're right about the brick red. We have Olympic color Brick Red in our bedroom. It's a beautiful color but it does suck out all the light. And since you haven't got white ceilings it's going to be even more so in your front room. (Beautiful room by the way)
Finding the color that will work with your walls is going to depend largely on the tone of your wood. Also, if your couch is green, painting the walls green can be tricky. It can be done, but it’s tricky. It has to be just the right shade.
I love Benjamin Moore paint. Also, Kwall-Howels and Olympic. I’ve painted with several other brands (including the ever popular Behr) that were very disappointing. Here are some colors that I really like. I think they will work with your wood, but maybe I’m wrong, pictures can be deceiving. Also, it’s a good idea to go with a medium-based paint (meaning those you would usually find in the middle of a swatch of several colors.) It won’t be too dark but it’ll give it the depth that the room needs.
Ponderosa Pine
Brookside Moss
Jalapeno Pepper
Millington Gold
Geranium
Deep Ochre
Thank you guys!!! This was so helpful! I'll show Brady, and I'll let you know what we end up doing.
