SLACKER!!!

I've been SOOOOO far behind on my bloggin'! I'm not sure I even want to post pictures of everything that we've been up to (lack of time...). We've been so busy and have been having so much fun this summer blogging hasn't been too high up on the priority list! For the grandparents and great-grandparents sake though, I've gotta get my butt in gear and get this going again.

Before I get too far behind, I need to post pictures of Ashton's birthday. He had a pretty fun week this year. We try to make birthdays very special at our house, so the V.I.P gets the whole week to feel extra special. On Monday night for FHE we went out to find a bike for him. We went to like 3 different places to just get an idea of what he liked. He didn't actually get it till his birthday which was Thursday (July 17th). On the morning of his birthday, he got breakfast in bed. He chose pancakes. Later that day, we went boating up at Echo. Ashton wanted to learn to water ski, but it turned out the skis were just a little too big(and heavy) for him. He was such a good sport though. No one told him to let go of the rope if he didn't get up, so the poor thing got dragged through the water. I think it scared me more than him! So, we spent the rest of the time tubing. The boys love it! We get going so fast and Ashton is so good about staying on...even with Brady driving!
On Friday, Ashton had his party here at our house. Most of his friends came, along with his cousins from Texas. He had a LEGO Star Wars party. We started off with a LEGO spaceship building contest. I gave the boys about 20 minutes to build a cool ship, then they got to tell the judges (Brady, Tyler, and their cousin Zach) what made their spaceship so special. The prize for the two winners was first up playing LEGO Star Wars on the Playstation. Outside, we hung up a LEGO pinata that I made, and the boys got to wack it with their homemade light sabers (made of pool noodles and pvc pipe). Then we ate pizza and cake and ice cream. I made Ashton a red LEGO cake. It turned out pretty good! And it was very yummy!!!
He had a great time, as you can see from the pictures:

That Lego cake is super creative. I love it! You did a great job. And it looks like he had fun.

And yes, shame on you for slacking! J/K ;) It's hard when you're busy, isn't it? If I don't update regularly I will get emails from my dad with big bold letters that say ~ I WANT MORE PICTURES! ~ So, I've learned to spend a little time on my blog as soon as an event is over. Then I don't get yelled at quite as much. LOL But, I sometimes slack too. We have a right to when we are the mothers of young children ;)
